But you shall offer a burnt offering to the LORD, a pleasing odor: For the contrastive conjunction but, see the comments on verse 28.19. Offer renders the Hebrew verb hiqrib again (see 28.2). For burnt offering (ʿolah in Hebrew), see 6.11; for a pleasing odor to the LORD, see 28.2.

One young bull, one ram, seven male lambs a year old: See verse 2. These were the animals the Israelites had to offer as burnt offerings on the Day of Atonement.
