And Moses told the people of Israel everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses: As the Revised Standard Version footnote indicates, this verse is numbered 30.1 in the Hebrew text. However, in one of the most important Hebrew manuscripts there is a short break in the text after this verse, not before it. This verse is obviously the conclusion of chapters 28–29; it summarizes how Moses carried out God’s command (28.1-2) to instruct the Israelites. It is similar to other conclusions in Numbers (so Ashley, page 572), such as at 1.19; 3.51; 4.37; 5.4; 15.36; 27.22-23. Good News Translation provides a helpful model for this verse, saying “So Moses told the people of Israel everything that the LORD had commanded him.”
