So shall you also present an offering to the LORD from all your tithes, which you receive from the people of Israel …: See verse 26. Verses 28-29 reiterate a number of the preceding instructions to the Levites, but now the focus is on Aaron as a representative of the entire priesthood. Appropriate connectors to begin these verses are So and “In this way” (Good News Translation).

And from it you shall give the LORD’s offering to Aaron the priest: The Levites must give their tenth of the Israelites’ tithes to the priests. This clause in Revised Standard Version may may wrongly suggest that the Levites need to only give an offering out of the tenth of the tithes they receive. This is of course not the case. They must give the whole tenth to the priests, which Good News Translation makes clear by saying “You are to give this special contribution for the LORD to Aaron the priest.” For Aaron the priest, see 3.6.
