Translation commentary on Leviticus 5:9

He shall sprinkle: see 4.6, 17.

The rest of the blood shall be drained out: some languages will require an active formulation of this passive idea with the agent being specified. In this case the agent is the priest. In some languages this will be rendered “the priest must drain out the blood….” Compare 1.15.

Sin offering: in some languages it may be necessary to make explicit the fact that the sin referred to here is unintentional.
