Translation commentary on Leviticus 13:52

He: the pronoun refers to the priest, and this should probably be made explicit in many languages.

A malignant leprosy: see verse 51.

It shall be burned in the fire: the words in the fire will be unnecessary in many languages, since they are implied by the verb “to burn.” The passive formulation must become active in other languages, and the agent will have to be specified. Translators may consider “he must burn it” or “the priest must have it burned” or “… cause it to burn.”
