Who belonged to her tribe and family: Marrying within one’s own tribe was usual, even praiseworthy. See Num 36, and compare Tob 1.9; 3.15. In this context family is probably not as good a choice as “clan” (Good News Translation, Contemporary English Version). Marrying within a family suggests incest, but the family intended here is much extended. It is a clan, a subdivision of the tribe. For tribe and “clan” see Tob 1.1.

Died during the barley harvest: Barley is another grain crop like “wheat.” See 2.27 for a comment on how to translate such crops. Another way to express this clause is “who died while they were harvesting [or, reaping] barley.”
