Some is literally “some from them.” “From them” is the same type of grammatical construction that was used in verse 40 (“from the crowd”). Here the indefinite pronoun some is explicitly used in the Greek text with this construction.

No one laid a hand on him translates the same expression used in verse 30, except that here the Greek text uses the plural “hands” in place of a hand. Some translations show this distinction (New English Bible “no one laid hands on him”), but the meaning is the same whether the singular or plural is used. It is simply a matter of which alternative is more acceptable in the receptor language.
