For he will complete what he appoints for me: complete translates a verb meaning “accomplish, achieve, carry out his purpose, fulfill.” What he appoints for me translates the same term Good News Translation translated as “my own desires” in verse 12. The word here means “my decree”; that is, “what God decrees for me,” not “what I decree.” Good News Translation uses “plan”: “He will fulfill what he has planned for me.” The line may also be rendered, for example, “He will do what he has planned for me” or “Whatever he has decided to do, he will carry it out for me.”

And many such things are in his mind: things here is to be taken as referring to “plans” in the previous line. This line may be rendered “and he has many plans for me.”
