Cleanse: This verb is rendered “made clean” in 13.27.

All the guilt of their sin against me is more literally “all the guilt which they sinned against me.” The noun rendered guilt is first used in 2.22.

Forgive is here used in parallel with cleanse, which is a more general term. Further, sin and rebellion is more than just sin, so that the second part of the verse repeats the first part, but adds more to it. Translators can say, for example:

• I will make them clean of all the sins they committed against me. I will even forgive all their sin of rebellion against me.
