If you put me to death: In Hebrew the pronouns you and me are emphatic.

Bring innocent blood upon yourselves: See 7.6. Good News Translation translates “be guilty of killing an innocent man.” Traduction œcuménique de la Bible is even stronger: “be guilty … of the murder of an innocent man.”

The transition for in truth gives the reason the people will be punished if Jeremiah is put to death. Good News Translation has “because.”
