Good News Translation makes it clear that land is Babylonia.
In this context the words which I have uttered would be better expressed as “my threats” (Die Bibel im heutigen Deutsch has “the fulfillment of what I have threatened”) or “the disasters that I threatened” (Good News Translation). Bible en français courant has “the misfortunes that I have said.”
Everything written in this book: Book is more accurately “scroll” (Die Bibel im heutigen Deutsch). However, very few translations say “scroll,” using instead “book” or “these writings.” Everything written is a passive construction that does not say who wrote these things. This is a problem in languages that require that an agent be named, because it is probably not correct to say that Jeremiah himself was the writer. This book may refer to the original prophecies of Jeremiah written on a scroll by Baruch; that scroll was destroyed by King Jehoiakim (see chapter 36). If there is an impersonal construction in the translator’s language, it can be used; for example “which they have [or, one has] written.” Another possibility is to say “which you can read in this book.”
Good News Translation combines the meaning of against it with against all the nations: “on the nations.” Die Bibel im heutigen Deutsch has “to each individual nation.”
