Thus says the LORD is apparently represented in Good News Translation by “He said” at the end of verse 8. In this case it would be better to follow the example of Die Bibel im heutigen Deutsch and place verses 8-9 together: “Then the Lord said to me….” See also 2.2. Translators could use an expression such as “Listen to this word” or “Here is what I want to say.”

Pride translates the same word used elsewhere only in 48.29; Jerusalem Bible has “arrogance.”

The expression spoil the pride may not make sense in all languages. Translators can say “ruin what Judah and Jerusalem are so proud of,” but it may be better to say “cause the pride of Judah and Jerusalem to disappear” or “shatter the proud nature of Judah and Jerusalem.”
