And he said to me: God gives Ezekiel another command here, so this clause may be rendered simply “Then he said.”
Go in: God tells Ezekiel to go through the door into the room. For those translators who follow Revised English Bible and New Jerusalem Bible in the previous verse, this command tells Ezekiel to go through the hole in the wall.
And see the vile abominations that they are committing here: Here God describes the people’s abominations (see Ezek 8.6) as vile, which may be rendered “evil” (Good News Translation), “horrible” (Contemporary English Version), or “wicked” (New International Version). The pronoun they refers to the people of Israel.
