And the word of the LORD came to me: See Ezek 20.2. Since this quote frame introduces a new prophecy here, the conjunction And may be rendered “Then” (New Living Translation) or “At another time.” Some translations omit this conjunction (so Good News Translation, Contemporary English Version).
