Translation commentary on Acts 5:29

Peter and the other apostles is in Greek “Peter and the apostles,” but a literal translation might imply that Peter was not an apostle.

A term for answered must indicate that this is not answering a question but replying to an accusation.

In many languages obey is rendered as “do what we are told (by God) to do.”

The ellipsis implied in not men may need to be filled out, for example, “we are not obligated to do what men tell us to do.”
