Have the same hope in God is rendered in some languages as “I wait expectantly for God in the same way as they.” In some instances hope, as in this context, implies trust—for example, “wait trustingly.”
These themselves is probably a reference to the Pharisees, who are representatives of the basic outlook of Judaism, since the reference is made to Paul’s belief in the resurrection.
