Hurry and quickly are intended to stress the immediacy with which Paul is commanded to act in leaving Jerusalem. The people here makes explicit the meaning of the pronominal subject “they” of the verb will not accept. Will not accept your witness is equivalent in many languages to “will not believe what you say about me.”
