Translation commentary on Acts 22:10

On this verse see 9.6. It is possible to understand the verb rendered get up (the same verb used in 5.6 and 17) as a Semitic idiom which is either redundant or has the force of “at once” (see Lake “go at once to Damascus”). However, none of the standard translations seem to understand it in either of these ways, and most of them render the verb in the same way that the Good News Translation renders it.
