Translation commentary on Acts 13:14

Antioch of Pisidia was not actually in the district of Pisidia, but near it. It was actually in Phrygia, a region lying in the Roman province of Galatia. There are also problems of geographical viewpoint in went on … came to. In many languages this is equivalent to “went on … and arrived at.” A shift from “went” to “came” in the same journey would be awkward in a number of languages.

Luke does not state where they sat down. It is possible that they sat down with Jewish teachers (rabbis) in the row of seats facing the congregation, but it is most likely that they took their place in the congregation.
