And as for her telling you that she brought him up with much care, that was the period of residence in Jerusalem: See 2 Esd 9.46. The youth of the woman’s son represents the time that the people of Israel lived in Jerusalem before the fall of the city. Much care may refer to God sending the prophets to the people. Good News Bible provides a helpful model for this verse. For translators who cannot use the passive voice, an alternative one is:

• The time the woman spent to raise her son carefully represents the period when Israelites lived in Jerusalem.
