Translation commentary on 2 Chronicles 25:26

Now the rest of the deeds of Amaziah, from first to last, are they not written…? is literally “And the rest of the acts of Amaziah, the first and the last, behold, are they not written…?” (similarly King James Version). This verse follows the usual formula summing up the reign of a king. See the comments on 1 Chr 29.29 and 2 Chr 9.29.

The negative rhetorical question in this verse is a way of strongly affirming that the things about Amaziah were certainly written in the source cited. In some languages the whole verse will have to be restructured as a statement (so Good News Translation, Revised English Bible, New American Bible).
