The writer’s judgment on Baasha is identical to his judgment on King Nadab in verse 26. Notice that Nadab was the son of Jeroboam, so verse 26 says “in the way of his father.” Baasha, however, was not a descendant of Jeroboam, so the text says in the way of Jeroboam.
