Zuph (verse 35) is the corrected reading in the margin of the Masoretic Text. The text of the Masoretic Text has the name “Ziph.” Zuph follows several Hebrew manuscripts and the ancient versions. In verse 26 he is called “Zophai,” and in the Masoretic Text of 1 Sam 1.1, he is called “Zuph.”
