O LORD our God: The vocative O does not express a special form in Hebrew (see the comments on verse 10). For this reason it is omitted in several modern English versions, including Contemporary English Version, New Century Version, Revised English Bible, and New Jerusalem Bible. It should be included in translation only if it is required to make the prayer sound natural in the receptor language.

All this abundance that we have provided for building thee a house for thy holy name comes from thy hand and is all thy own: See verse 14. A house for thy holy name means “a house for you [where people may worship you].” This phrase refers to the Temple where Yahweh would be worshiped. Other translations include “the temple where we are going to worship you, you the true God” (Bible en français courant) and “a Temple that will bear your name, you who are holy” (La Bible du Semeur).
