Translation commentary on Luke 17:19

Exegesis:

anastas poreuou ‘stand up and go.’ anastas is used literally here. poreuou is expression of dismissal.

hē pistis sou sesōken se ‘your faith has saved you,’ cf. on 7.50. The clause refers to his faith in Jesus’ implied promise of healing (v. 14) and its fulfilment.

Translation:

Rise, i.e. “stand up” (New English Bible), i.e. from kneeling.

Go your way, or, ‘go home,’ or another formula used to give a person leave to go.

Your faith has made you well, see references on 8.48.
