the baby: The Greek word that the Berean Standard Bible translates as the baby here refers to Elizabeth’s unborn baby.

leaped: The Greek word that the Berean Standard Bible translates as leaped normally refers to leaping or jumping for joy. Since this baby was in the womb, here it probably refers to a vigorous, strong movement of the baby’s legs. Use a word that a mother in your language might use to describe the strong movements of a baby in the womb.

in her womb: The Greek word that the Berean Standard Bible translates as womb refers to the part of a woman’s body where an unborn baby grows. People in some cultures do not publicly refer to the womb. If that is true in your culture, you may need to translate this in a more general way. For example you could translate in her womb as “within her.”

Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit: The Greek expression that the Berean Standard Bible translates as was filled with the Holy Spirit is a common figure of speech in the New Testament. It describes when the Holy Spirit comes to someone to guide, control, or enable him or her to do something. Here the Holy Spirit enabled Elizabeth to know and speak things about Mary and the baby in Mary’s womb. Elizabeth could not have known these things by herself.
