8:3a God has delivered Oreb and Zeeb, the two princes of Midian, into your hand.

It is to you that God delivered the Midianite leaders Oreb and Zeeb.

God gave Oreb and Zeeb, the rulers of Midian, to you ⌊not to me⌋ .

8:3b What was I able to do compared to you?”

What have I done in comparison with you?”

What I did is small in comparison with what you did.”

8:3c When he had said this, their anger against him subsided.

These words appeased their anger.
