5:31a So may all Your enemies perish, O LORD!

O Yahweh, may all your (sing.) enemies perish like this.

Yahweh, let all your enemies die like General Sisera.

5:31b But may those who love You shine like the sun at its brightest.”

And may all who love you be like the sun when it rises dazzling bright.”

But let all your friends be strong like the bright rising sun.”

5:31c And the land had rest for forty years.

After that the country was at peace for forty years.

Then the people of Israel had no more wars for forty (40) years.
