Samson answered, “Out of the eater, there came something to eat.

He said, “Something to eat came out of the eater;

14:14b and out of the strong came something sweet.”

Out of the strong, there came something sweet.”
-or-
something sweet came out of the strong.”

14:14c For three days they were unable to explain the riddle.

They were not able to tell the answer to the riddle for three days.
-or-
But for three days, the young men could not solve the riddle.
-or-
Three days later, the young men still had not been able to solve the riddle.
