9:13a After all that has come upon us because of our evil deeds and our great guilt

“Because of our (excl.) evil deeds and our great guilt, all these ⌊bad⌋ things have happened to us.
-or-
“We know that foreign kings have defeated us and we have been their slaves as the punishment for doing bad things and disobeying you.
-or-
“Although we are guilty of doing many wrong things, and that is why we suffered in many ways,

9:13b (though You, our God, have punished us less than our iniquities deserve

But, our (excl.) God, you have in fact punished us less than we deserved for our sins,
-or-
However, you have not let us suffer as much as we deserved.
-or-
in fact you have shown us mercy.⌋ O God, you should/could have punished us more severely for our ⌊terrible⌋ sins.

9:13c and have given us such a remnant as this),

and have given us (excl.) this escape ⌊from Babylon where we had been captives⌋.
-or-
Even more,⌋ you have enabled/helped some of our people to survive ⌊and return here to our land⌋.
-or-
Because of your grace/mercy,⌋ you have preserved/protected us during our slavery ⌊in Babylon and brought us back to this place⌋.
