Section 1:1-11

In this life, the same things happen over and over again

1:1a These are the words of the Teacher, the son of David,

These are the words of the Preacher, the son of ⌊King⌋ David.

1:1b king in Jerusalem:

⌊The Teacher was a⌋ king ⌊who lived⌋ in ⌊the city of⌋ Jerusalem.
