9:3a Though they hide themselves atop Carmel,

If they hide on top of ⌊Mount⌋ Carmel,
-or-
Even if they hide from my sight,

9:3b there I will track them and seize them;

I will search for them there and catch them.

I will ⌊surely⌋ find them there and grab them.

9:3c and though they hide from Me

And though they ⌊may⌋ hide from my sight
-or-
Even if they hide from me

9:3d at the bottom of the sea,

on the sea floor,
-or-
in the deep of the water,

9:3e there I will command the serpent to bite them.

I will command the ⌊poisonous⌋ snake to bite them there.
-or-
I will give orders to the ⌊fearful⌋ monster to ⌊go⌋ eat them up.
