8:12a People will stagger from sea to sea

People will be weak and wander from ⌊the Mediterranean⌋ sea to ⌊the Dead⌋ sea.
-or-
The people will move about in the whole country in all directions,

8:12b and roam from north to east,

And ⌊they will⌋ wander everywhere,
-or-
and ⌊they will⌋ be weak and walk all over ⌊the place⌋ .

8:12a–b (combined)

People will stagger and wander in all directions,

People will wander in weakness from place to place.

8:12c seeking the word of the LORD,

looking for the word of Yahweh.

⌊The people will⌋ search for a message from Yahweh,

8:12d but they will not find it.

However, they will not hear it.

and they will not hear ⌊him speak⌋ .
