7:17a Therefore this is what the LORD says:

So this is what Yahweh is saying,

For that reason, Yahweh says ⌊to you, Amaziah⌋ ,

7:17b ‘Your wife will become a prostitute in the city,

‘Your wife will prostitute herself in the city ⌊to be able to eat⌋ .
-or-
‘In the town, your (sing.) wife will offer sex for pay.

7:17c and your sons and daughters will fall by the sword.

Your (sing.) sons and daughters will be killed by the sword.
-or-

⌊Enemy soldiers⌋ will kill your ⌊children⌋ , both male and female, in war.

7:17d Your land will be divided by a measuring line,

⌊People⌋ will measure your (sing.) land and divide it up ⌊among themselves⌋ .
-or-

⌊Your conquerors⌋ will measure your land and ⌊they⌋ will divide it ⌊and give it to other people⌋ .

7:17e and you yourself will die on pagan soil.

And you (sing.) yourself will die in an unclean land.
-or-
You as a person will die in a foreign country ⌊where people do not know Yahweh⌋ .
-or-
As for you, Amaziah, your life will come to an end in a foreign country ⌊where people honor/worship false gods⌋ .

7:17f And Israel will surely go into exile,

And Israel will certainly be taken into captivity,

And ⌊enemies⌋ will surely come and force ⌊the people of⌋ Israel to go and live/stay in another country.

7:17g away from their homeland.’”
