1:6a This is what the LORD says:

Yahweh says this,
-or-
This is what Yahweh said, ⌊to me⌋ ,

1:6b “For three transgressions of Gaza, even four,

“For three crimes of Gaza, even more ⌊crimes⌋ ,
-or-
“Because of the crimes ⌊that the people of⌋ Gaza have done again and again,

1:6c I will not revoke My judgment,

I will not revoke the punishment.
-or-
I will certainly punish them.

1:6d because they exiled a whole population,

The people of Gaza took whole villages as captive prisoners
-or-
The people of Gaza defeated and took away large groups of people.

1:6e delivering them up to Edom.

and handed them over to the ⌊neighboring country of⌋ Edom ⌊as slaves⌋ .
-or-
And ⌊they⌋ delivered them up to ⌊the people of⌋ Edom ⌊to become their slaves⌋ .
