SIL Translator’s Notes on Acts 2:10

2:10a

Phrygia and Pamphylia: Phrygia and Pamphylia were regions in what is now the country of Turkey. Phrygia was located in west-central Turkey, just east of the province of Asia. Pamphylia was farther to the south and bordered on the north shore of the Mediterranean Sea.

Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene: Both Egypt and Libya were countries farther south. They bordered on the south shore of the Mediterranean.

Cyrene: Cyrene was a coastal city in Libya.

visitors from Rome, including Jews and Jewish converts

visiting Jews and Jewish converts from Rome

The last example would require that these two verses be under a combined verse numbering (10–11).
