8:15a But the next day Hazael took a thick cloth,
But the next day, Hazael took a heavy cloth/covering,

8:15b dipped it in water,
put it in water,

He made it very wet
8:15c and spread it over the king’s face.
and laid it over the king’s face.

and put it on the king’s face ⌊so that he could not breathe⌋ .
8:15d So Ben-hadad died,
⌊He held it there⌋ until the king died.

And so the king died.
8:15e and Hazael reigned in his place.
Then Hazael became king in his place.

After that Hazael became the new/next king ⌊of Aram/Syria⌋ .
