SIL Translator’s Notes on 2 Kings 6:10

6:10a So the king of Israel sent word to the place the man of God had pointed out.

So the king of Israel sent his men to check/survey the place about which the prophet had warned him.

⌊When the king received this warning,⌋ he told his men to look around that area ⌊to see if any Aramean soldiers were there⌋ .

6:10b Time and again Elisha warned the king,

Elisha gave/sent this warning to the king several times.

-or-

This happened many/numerous times.

6:10c so that he was on his guard in such places.

So the king ⌊always⌋ knew to remain on alert in those places.

⌊Each time⌋ the king became very careful/cautious around those places.
