Section 2:23-25

Elisha punished some boys who made fun of him |

2:23a From there, Elisha went up to Bethel,

From there Elisha went on to Bethel.

-or-

Elisha left Jericho and started on his way ⌊back⌋ to Bethel.

2:23b and as he was walking up the road,

As he was on the way,

-or-

While he was walking along,

2:23c a group of boys came out of the city

some young lads/boys came from the town

-or-

some youths from town ⌊saw him⌋ .

2:23d and jeered at him,

and mocked him.

-or-

They started to make fun of him,

2:23e chanting, “Go up, you baldhead!

They said, “Go (sing.) away, baldhead!

-or-

saying/shouting, “Get (sing.) away from here, ⌊you⌋ hairless/bald guy!

2:23f Go up, you baldhead!”

Go (sing.) away, baldhead!”

-or-

Get (sing.) away from here, you hairless/bald guy!”
