18:3a And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD,

Hezekiah acted in a way that was right in the sight of Yahweh,

Hezekiah did things that Yahweh approved,

18:3b just as his father David had done.

just as his ancestor David had done.

in the same way that David, his ancestor had done.

Just as King David, his ancestor, had done, Hezekiah did what was pleasing to Yahweh.
