15:5a And the LORD afflicted the king with leprosy until the day he died,

Yahweh caused King Uzziah to become ill with leprosy. He had this illness until the death of his death.

Yahweh punished him/Uzziah with the leprosy ⌊sickness⌋ for the rest of his life.

15:5b so that he lived in a separate house

He lived in a separate house/place.

During the sickness he had to live in isolation.

15:5c while his son Jotham had charge of the palace

His son Jotham took over the responsibility for the royal house

His son Jotham managed the royal household

15:5d and governed the people of the land.

and the task of ruling the whole kingdom.
