14:19a And conspirators plotted against Amaziah in Jerusalem,

Some men plotted against him in Jerusalem,

-or-

Some people in Jerusalem made plans to kill Amaziah.

14:19b and he fled to Lachish.

and he escaped to ⌊the city of⌋ Lachish.

-or-

He tried to save himself by going to Lachish ⌊city⌋ .

14:19c But men were sent after him to Lachish, and they killed him there.

But ⌊his enemies⌋ sent men to Lachish, where they murdered him.

-or-

But their ⌊hitmen/assassins⌋ followed/chased him to Lachish and killed him there.
