Then Jehoash son of Jehoahaz took back from Ben-Hadad son of Hazael the towns

At that time Jehoahaz’s son Jehoash was able to take/recover from Ben-Hadad some ⌊Israelite⌋ towns.

13:25b that Hazael had taken in battle from his father Jehoahaz.

that Hazael had captured. Hazael had captured these towns when he fought Jehoash’s father Jehoahaz.

Ben-Hadad’s father Hazael had conquered/taken these towns during his war with Jehoash’s father Jehoahaz.

13:25c Jehoash defeated Ben-hadad three times,

Jehoash defeated Ben-Hadad three times

On three different occasions, Jehoash’s ⌊army⌋ won a victory over ⌊the army of⌋ Ben-Hadad.

13:25d and so recovered the cities of Israel.

and restored the towns to Israel.
