12:14a Instead, it was paid to those doing the work,

Instead, the silver was given to the workers ⌊for their wages⌋ ,

-or-

But they paid the money to the workmen.

12:14b and with it they repaired the house of the LORD.

and with/using it the workers fixed/mended ⌊Yahweh’s⌋ house.

-or-

Then the workmen were able to repair/restore the temple.
