36:21a So the land enjoyed its Sabbath rest

The land ⌊of Israel⌋ rested ⌊as it should have⌋ every seven years.
-or-
Nobody in Israel planted crops and⌋ the land rested to make up for the sabbath days that people had worked on it.

36:21b all the days of the desolation, until seventy years were completed,

It was empty, and it rested for seventy years.
-or-
It was like a desert for seventy years, and it rested to make up for the years that the people did not let it rest.

36:21c in fulfillment of the word of the LORD through Jeremiah.

In this way, the word that Yahweh spoke through his prophet Jeremiah came true.
-or-
This fulfilled what Yahweh said through his prophet Jeremiah.
