34:4a Then in his presence the altars of the Baals were torn down,

He gave orders that the altars of the Baal gods be torn down.

He ordered people to destroy the platforms where they made sacrifices to ⌊the gods called⌋ Baal.

34:4b and he cut to pieces the incense altars that were above them.

He also ordered that they cut into pieces the incense altars that were above the Baals.

Above the Baal platforms there were platforms on which people burned sweet-smelling spices. King Josiah gave orders to destroy them too.

34:4d He shattered the Asherah poles, the carved idols, and the cast images,

They smashed the poles ⌊that were images of the goddess⌋ Asherah and the idols.

He also ordered them to destroy the wooden poles ⌊where people worshiped the goddess⌋ Asherah, and the statues of gods.

34:4e crushed them to dust,

They broke them in pieces
-or-
King Josiah had them break up all those things.

34:4f and scattered them over the graves of those who had sacrificed to them.

and threw the pieces over the tombs of those who had offered sacrifices to them.

They put the pieces ⌊of what they destroyed⌋ at the place where they buried the people who made sacrifices to those gods.
