33:7a Manasseh even took the carved image he had made and set it up in the house of God,

He tool an idol he had made and stood it up in God’s temple.

He made a statue and put it in Yahweh’s house.

33:7b of which God had said to David and his son Solomon,

This was the temple about which God spoke to David and to David’s son Solomon. He proclaimed,

This was the place about which God had said to King David and to his son King Solomon:

33:7c “In this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel,

“This house and Jerusalem are the places I have chosen out of all the places in Israel.

“I have chosen this house and ⌊the city of⌋ Jerusalem out of all the other places among the clans of Israel.

33:7d I will establish My Name forever.

I will put my name here for all time.

My name will stay here forever.
