33:14a After this, Manasseh rebuilt the outer wall of the City of David from west of Gihon in the valley

After this he rebuilt the wall outside David’s city. The wall ran along the west side of the Gihon spring in the valley,

Later he rebuilt the outer wall of ⌊the part of Jerusalem called⌋ the City of David. The wall was west of the Gihon spring in the ⌊Kidron⌋ valley.

33:14b to the entrance of the Fish Gate, and he brought it around the hill of Ophel

all the way to the Fish Gate and around Ophel Hill.

It went around the hill of Ophel and went as far as the Fish Gate.

33:14c and heightened it considerably.

He built the wall much higher.

He raised the wall much higher ⌊than it had been before⌋.

33:14d He also stationed military commanders in all the fortified cities of Judah.

He put military commanders in each of Judah’s protected cities.

He ⌊reinforced/supported⌋ each of the walled cities of Judah by sending military officers to them.
