32:19a They spoke against the God of Jerusalem as they had spoken against the gods of the peoples of the earth—

They continued denouncing the God of Jerusalem. They spoke about him the way they spoke about all the other gods,

They said the same things about Jerusalem’s God that they said about the gods of the other nations.

32:19b the work of human hands.

gods that people make with their own hands.

Those gods, however, are ⌊only statues⌋ that people have made.
