31:10a and Azariah, the chief priest of the household of Zadok, answered him,

Then Azariah the high priest from Zadok’s family replied,

Azariah, who was the head sacrificer and from the family of Zadok, answered. He said,

31:10b “Since the people began to bring their contributions into the house of the LORD,

“Ever since people started contributing to Yahweh’s temple

“The people have been bringing their offerings to Yahweh’s house.

31:10c we have had enough to eat and there is plenty left over,

we have had more than we need to eat.
-or-
Now we have eaten until we are full, and we have lots left over.

31:10d because the LORD has blessed His people;

This is because Yahweh has blessed his people,
-or-
Yahweh has clearly shown favor to his people.

31:10e this great abundance is what is left over.”

and ⌊as a result⌋ there is an large surplus ⌊of food⌋.”
